DGS/Hilsewick/Shepherd/Sistrunk/Stanley/Dodge Scholarship Endowment

The Dallas Geological Society (DGS) Scholarships are one-year awards of up to $5,000 given to current undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a degree in Geological Sciences. Number of recipients and award amounts vary.

Eligibility & Selection Criteria:
Eligible applicants must be U.S. Citizens or documented permanent residents of the U.S. (student visas will not qualify), be currently enrolled full-time in a four-year college or university or graduate program in North Texas and have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Selection is based on academic achievement, financial need and school and extracurricular activities. Preference will be given to undergraduates who have completed 12 semester hours of advanced or core geology courses beyond the introductory level.

It is recommended that all applicants submit at least one letter of recommendation. Graduate student applicants are required to include an outline or abstract of their thesis topic.
